Amy Cohen

PATIENT ADVOCATE ACTION COLLECTIVE MEMBER

Amy Cohen is a patient advocate, public health professional, and founder of The Patient Room, a consultancy focused on humanizing the patient experience in clinical trials. Living with sickle cell disease, Amy brings both personal insight and professional expertise to her advocacy work, with a mission to bridge the gap between patients, providers, and industry.

Her work centers on rebuilding and sustaining patient trust as a foundation for improving clinical trial design, health outcomes, and long-term care. She has over a decade of experience in community engagement and patient recruitment, having led initiatives across hospitals, academic centers, and nonprofit organizations.
Amy has testified at the Massachusetts State House in support of legislation to improve sickle cell care and regularly speaks at national conferences on equity in clinical research. She was inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Public Health Society and earned her Master of Public Health in Policy and Management from NYU’s School of Global Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Texas A&M University.
